Over the last few years, there has been a fundamental shift in marketing. The influence of organizations has taken a massive plummet and the influence of friends and individuals you decide to respect, thanks to the power of the social web, has increased tremendously.

Who are you listening to? Individuals you think are authentic. I argue that authentic people are people who have a point of view and speak with sincerity. People who, at some level, forget who their audience is.

How do you come off as authentic? To start, think about what you want to say, what you stand for, what you believe in.

  1. Authentic speaking is not about telling people what is pleasing to them. It is about bringing them out of their bad sense into your good sense. That’s what I think about authenticity.

    Come to think about it. I must speak with authenticity because I care for my audience.
