I have been involved with social media for over 7 years. Over 3 years ago I founded and host The Employee Engagement Network<\/span>.<\/p>\n

My work is based more on the principles of honeybees as \u00a0outlined at my site\u00a0www.zinghive.com<\/span> yet I appreciate the focused approach of the DragonFly Effect. There is room for many species to guide our social media strategy.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here is a bit of the overlap of the model of DragonFly and the Employee Engagement Network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Focus<\/strong>: We are working towards a goal of increasing employee engagement around the globe 20% by December 31, 2020. This is our 20\/20 vision and 2011 is a year to start articulating this and moving forward. The community will shape new iterations of this a bit as we progress. We are relying on member’s cognitive surplus as articulated by Clay Shirky.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Grab Attention<\/strong>: I am not sure we are trying to grab attention as I would prefer a longer sustained drawing of attention and work towards this project or initiative. There are quite a few waggle dances going on right now. As we grow, and we have grown from 1 to 3403 in just over 3 years, our community is creating more buzz and attention.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Engage<\/strong>. That is what we are all about. Contribution is a huge way to engage and we have produced 6 free and wonderful e-books on engagement and we are working on number 7. The site itself is visually appealing and mixes over 500 forums with a new weekly cartoon. I believe that engagement is connection and in employee engagement there are about 14 elements to connect with (see \u00a0<\/strong>Zinger Model of Engagement<\/span>)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Take Action<\/strong>. We are taking action every day ranging from conversation to creating books and articulating next steps on our focused project. As the founder and host of this site I am dwelling in engaged action and as we move towards 2015 our action around the globe for engagement will steadily increase and will find stronger focus and more robust efforts.<\/p>\n
